snapping layers to text |
| message from JoelW on 16 Jul 2004 |
I'm using layers as little drop-down text boxes that open when words in
paragraph are moused over. When I look at them on a smaller monitor than mine,
same resolution, they are far down the page from the words to which they're
linked. I tried using the grid, but it doesn't hold them in place. I would use
a snap layers behavior, but I don't see anything to snap them to! I want the
layers to open right under the words to which they're linked. Does anyone have
any suggestions.
Thanks!
Joel

It's clumsy and I'm sure that there are better ways but...
Since Snap Layers relies on an image being present to snap to, you could
insert 1x1 uniquely-named GIFs next to each word you want each layer to
appear under.
Then snap your layers to the relevant 1x1 GIFs with suitable offsets
specified.
