i would like to rename a folder on my local hard drive. how will this impact on
dwmx. i presume it will not be able to locate any of the files it is pointing
to. do i change the filename and then just define the site again in dwmx?

Andy,
If it's a folder within your site, you can rename it from within DW, in the
Site Panel (just a right-click), and DW will make any site changes that it
needs to.
If it's the top-level folder that contains your site, you can actually do it
from within DW as well.
~ Open your site definition box.
~ Advanced tab.
~ Click Local Site category.
~ Click the browse icon next to Local Root Folder
~ Click the Up One Level icon
~ Right-click on the folder and Rename
~ Once renamed, open the folder and Select as the root of the site.
DW will pick it up without a prob.
You could do it from within your OS, and then change the site definition, as
above, if you wanted to.
Hope this helps,
Piers
