login ERROR? |
| message from pullover on 24 Jul 2004 |
hi,
i have setup an Coldfusion MX login page, register page and an ms access
database to store the info.
In th login page server behaviour login, i set the "lf login success, go to:
index.html and "if login fail, go to: fail.cfm
however, when i tested it out, i always got directed to fail.cfm instead of
index.html even thought my username and password is correct against the access
database i created.
what could be wrong?
i've no problem in the register page "After inserting, go to: ....
thanks

I think this is a problem with the Coldfusion Server behavior. I'm more an
ASP person but I had to do a project using CF. I tried creating a login page
using the server behavior provided with DWMX2004 but, like you, I kept being
sent to the fail.cfm page. In the end I had to resort to writing my own
script. Pain!

Have you applied the Restrict Access behaviour to your index.html page..?
If you have and the page this points to if not logged in, is your failed page,
then there might be a problem with the link between the access level and the
database...if not, hard to tell.
I am afraid my area is ASP...but you could try removing your login behaviour
and reapplying it...make sure you have not selected the Access level option,
just Username and Password, also make sure your Username and Password have no
gaps in them etc.
