how do i do what kevinrose.com has?

message from DrywaterEntertainmet on 16 Jul 2004
Hi, I am trying to figure out how to do that www.kevinrose.com has. I want to
post updates on my site and I am trying to figure the cleanest/most
professional way of being able to have my updates listed on the main page (just
like the site i just mentioned, kevinrose.com) That site has the date of the
update and then the dotted line directly below it and then the title followed
by the text update. It finaly ends with the cool looking links at the end of
the update (under a second dotted line).
my question: how do I get a dotted line (or any line) like that? Ive tried
using the "horizontal line" insertion but it cant be put directly below text
(but is like 2 lines below).
thanks for any help!

It's a Blog (Web Log), using TypePad. Check out:

Read. Then click on "About TypePad".

Good luck.

i looked at the source for that page and if you're talking about the text table
in the middle, it appears that he just types it on the page and re-uploads it.
that's probably the simplest way to do it. i'm sure you could always use asp or
xml or javasscript to import text from a txt file or something, but if you're
looking for the easiest way to do the daily update thing that he has, just type
the text on your page and re-upload it. i'm sure that murray or the 'newsgroup
brigade' will have more advanced solutions for you, but i'm a total amateur at
coding, so that's the best i could come up with.
if the daily update on that site isn't what you were referring to, reply with
more specific info and i'll see if i can figure it out.

hope it helps,
christoff

Looking at the code of that page, it seems they are using
http://typepad.com/
