flash menu with xml dont work in pages?

i have built an XML driven menu with flash (much like the one supplied with
flash itself) yet when i put it in DW on my PHP (or html) page with the
reference xml file in the same directory, the flash element doesnot work.
however it works fine in a standalone SWF file?? has anyone come accross this
before?
