equal tables |
| message from A.H.O. on 20 Jul 2004 |
I think Ive got just about got this table design thing down...A few unclear
points though....To make columns all equal in a 100% width table you leave the
column width unspecified? It seems that if I do that the contents change the
width of the table. Can I change the column width to portions of the table
width...IE 5 columns would be 20% each? Ive tried that and the content still
makes them uneven. Not sure where to go here. Any help would be appreciated.
PS Ive read the tutorials, but they dont seem to get that specific.

As with Alan's eml above, td's adopt their percentage from the 'host', so do
tables, so do tables within td's, etc
The main reason for failure is if the cell content is bigger than that
specified, i.e the image is too big for the desired percentage, or a word is
too big and won't wrap properly, vis. email addresses
