drag to link in MX2004 is hidden. WHY? |
| message from diobeth on 17 Jul 2004 |
Maybe it's just me, but after upgrading to MX2004, one of the most frustrating
things is that I can no longer drag that lovely little icon to a file listed in
the right pane of the desktop in DW to link to another page in my site. Why?
you ask? Well, because when you have the right pane open (with the files
listed), the "drag to link" icon is covered by the right pane!
If you close the right panel, sure, you can see the icon to drag to link just
fine.. but, alas, you no longer have a list of files to drag TO.
I've been looking all around to find a solution to this. Help appreciated.
Is it just a design error?
Thanks!

Thank you, thank you! I knew there had to be a way around it. Screen
resolution is the problem... but then these eyes aren't what they used to be
... :-(. I'll use the mouse and shift key.
Again, many thanks.

Hi diobeth,
I believe MM recommends 1024x768... What you may want to consider trying is
either Windows Magnifier or the Macintosh equivalent. Let me know if you
need more detail.
My eyes aren't what they used to be either, so I understand. In fact, thanks
for the reminder that I need to schedule an appointment to get new glasses.
8-) My peepers could really use a stronger pair!

Hi diobeth,
Nonetheless, you can make a selection in Design view, hold the Shift key and
click the selection (holding the mouse key down) and drag to use the point
to file feature. You don't even need the Property inspector!
Enjoy,
~Angela
