css link doesn't work in DW MX |
| message from kiggityca on 24 Jul 2004 |
I have a template I created in DW4 that was working fine. I opened it in DW MX
and was trying to add an editable region. For some reason once I edit in DW
MX, the link to the stylesheet no longer works. The code looks correct but for
some reason it's not using the CSS file. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks

OK so I figured out that the problem is that when I add the CSS link in the
Template it's not updating the other pages with the correct url. I add the
CSS link in the template and it puts it in as "file.css" but in the other
pages, which are in a different directory, it's not adding the path to the
Template folder where the css file is. Why isn't it doing this correctly?

If it's adding the link as just "file.css" in the Template then either you
have put the style sheet in the Templates folder, or the template is not in
the Templates folder. Either way, it will not update properly. Templates
must be in the folder named "Templates" which must be at the locally defined
site's root level. There must be NOTHING else in the Template folder except
the actual .dwt template files.

Never put anything in the Templates folder besides the Template files
themselves. This has been the rule since at least DW2.
Move your stylesheet out of that location to any other location within the
site, and see what happens.
