How do I use an image as a background for my page and keep it from tiling to
fill up the entire page. the picture is small but I would like to adjust the
size of the page, maybe...?

David,
If the picture is small, it may look a a bit strange if it isn't tiled.
What about using it like a watermark on a page, or the background of a
table.

you will see what I mean. There are other examples of using background
images there as well.
