Ugly web page

message from Aik Saath on 19 Jul 2004
Hi,
I work for a charity and have some vague ideas about web design so they asked
me to build this website (that's my excuse). It's the first time I've used
frames.
When I look at it in IE version 6 it looks passable. The problem is it looks
really quite ugly (i.e. small, squashed in the corner) in later versions.
Do you have any advice ideas, that could help me make it look better?

Any help very gratefully received!

Most new users make the same decision you did - to use frames. They wind up
here with lots of questions! 8)

Don't use frames.

I only checked in IE 6, but it looks good to me.

Curious, why use frames? One of the problems I have with frames, is that a
user can't easily refer someone else to a particular page on a site. They
can't easily copy/paste and send someone the exact url of a page.

I agree that frames aren't the best way to go...and BH offers one excellent
reason. This was a problem for me on the first site built for my consulting
business. My web designer at the time did the site in frames. So, when I
sent someone the link to an article on the site, they got no graphics and no
navigation. Bad idea.

BTW, in WinME, IE6, I got the following error:

Line: 17
Char: 74
Error: Unexpected call to method or property access.
Code: 0
