Transfer of site definitions? |
| message from determined! on 21 Jul 2004 |
For some reason, my site definitions have disappeared from my laptop! They are
working on my main micro. Is there a way of saving the definitions and
transferring them from one to the other? (I have over twenty sites I manage,
and don't fancy keying them in all again.)
Main micro is XP professional, laptop XP home (in case it is relevant!

It's a known problem in Dreamweaver. You should run the updater to the
latest version if you did not yet.

If you have no system backup, or backup of your registry, the Site
Definitions are lost and you have to reenter them.
If you are using WinXP, system restore can get them back.
Dreamweaver contains an Export Site Definition feature which allows
sites to be backed up one at a time. This is available by choosing Site >
Edit Sites, choose the site name from the list, then click Export. Follow
the prompts. Repeat this procedure for each site you want to back up.
Or just use my free tool, which can help you backup all important
Dreamweaver settings and data (and much more)
