message from Supertrogg on 22 Jul 2004
Hi,
This is my first post here, so please be gentle!
Although I am not new to HTML ,I have preferred a good text editor for all my
There a re a few hundred pages all with the same template, I need to change
the template to a new differently named, one. Can this be done in bulk as I
dont want to open each one individually and assign the template?
Thanks in advance for any help.

1. If you have several hundred pages hanging off the same template, then
you should reconsider the use of templates altogether. This is too large a
site for the effective use of templates. Consider migrating to the use of
Server-side includes instead of templates.

If the old template and the new template have the same number of editable
regions which have the same name, then you can do this - rename the old
template file, but deny the prompt to update links. Then save the new
template file with the old template file's name. Force a site-wide update
of the pages. Bada bing, bada boom.
