Suggestions for header image

message from D. Shane Fowlkes on 16 Jul 2004
Ever had one of those days where you design something and you don't like it
http://www.easterassociates.com/default2.aspx

There's just something about the header image I'm not liking but not sure
what. I'm pretty happy with the logo (to be refined) which you can see at
http://www.easterassociates.com/ but for some reason, I'm not liking it
against the photos at the first link.

Any suggestions or tips?? Thanks!

The building is symmetric, the brown curve on the top is not, thats what
makes it look whacky. :)

Hi,

Personally I think that perhaps you are concentrating too much on what
your text is doing, the image of the buildings is perfect I think and
the medium strenght of the text is quite perfectly balanced in it's
provision of message to the imagery.

I have days like you for sure...take a few days out to let your inspired
brain have rest and look on it with the eyes of a new user... I think it
will look just fine mate.

Shane,
I don't think there is anything wrong with the header as you have it.
But if you want another couple of options -

Here is a quick and dirty rendition of something else you could consider..
(fixing outer images of course :)
http://dreamweaverresources.com/shane/

I couldn't snag the middle building cleanly, but you could leave as it is
now, but make that middle building a little less transparent, so that the
logo stands out a bit more..

If the red color of the "E" in the logo isn't a set business color, you
could also consider changing that to the maron color used throughout the
page.

Hope this helps and not confused the issue any further :-D

I think Ranjan is right about the symmetry. I also think the dark red at the
top looks a bit odd. I'd go with something lighter, like the grey used in
the navbar and sidebar. But I AM design challenged, so take that with a
grain, uh ... pound of salt. ;-)
