Simulating a specific software program |
| message from Ann_S on 23 Jul 2004 |
Currently we have creating CBTs using Authorware, but are looking for a Web
program to replace what we have already done. We have looked at DreamWeaver
and Flash, but still have an outstanding question regarding simulations. To
train or users we need to have the ability to simulate the entry of data into
our program. It user should feel like they are in the actual program, when in
actuality it is a simulation. CourseBuilder can be used to do the self checks
but not the entry of something like an invoice for an item purchased from a
company. I haven't seen any examples of this. Does anyone have experience
with this type of simulation or interaction.

Try Camtasia Studio, it's pretty good for software demos.

RapidBuilder by xStream Software http://www.xstreamsoftware.com/
Lotus screen cam (haven't used it in awhile but it did the trick a few years
ago)

Check out eHelp/Macromedia's RoboDemo and Qarbon's ViewletBuilder.

I didn't review actualy simulation features, though. But both products do
allow for that type of functionality.
I really like the feature set of RoboDemo, but it had some presentation
issues. I really hope Macromedia is able to update this product for the
better soon.
