I got a spam about a "free iPod" and looked into the fine print. In order to
get the free iPod. you must
*agree to let them send you any and all "special offers" they want. In other
words, let them sell spam the heck out of you.
*complete one offer. That basically means buy something as a result of one
of the spams you get. I've seen other schemes where "completing an offer"
means signing up for a credit card and making at least one purchase with it,
joining a record or book club, or subscribing to a newsletter.
*get 5 other people to sign up for the deal
*each of those 5 people must also "complete an offer."
Thgey do similar things for other products

I hate to think what you have to do to complete an offer form
