Synch problem

message from Tony Talmage on 16 Jul 2004
Let me start at the beginning. For the past couple months, we have been
noticing pages that had been updated losing changes that were made, and
reverting to a version days or weeks old. We figured that one of us just
had an old local copy that was pushed onto the server over the new copy, but
1) Synchronize doesn't do this and 2) we are sure no old local copies exist.
So I did a Get/Put Synchronization today and noticed the "Get" section of
files were all *older* than my local files. It seems that Synchronizing is
causing us to get old versions from our development server, which then get
pushed onto our live server and destroy any changes made.

This seems a serious issue - is there anything I can do to customize the
Synchronization process, or should I just never do it again for fear of
losing more data?

Where is this checkbox you're referring to? I don't see any section for
Synchronize in the Edit > Preferences listing, in the Edit Site window, or
in the actual Synchronize window.
