Re: Very Serious Question... |

Methink this can only be configured in the browser's preferences, not
DW's. Of course, you'd need to use a browser that allows this, and I
don't think IE does.
Go to www.mozilla.org and get latest Firefox (free), which is an
outstanding browser and which will let you chose exactly where to open
new pages: in new tab, new window or top window.

Well that's not a very big problem. They can give us the option to open a new
broswer whenever we click on preview in browse or press f12. why to distrub
our person web browser on which we are browsing our site etc.. that's very
simple they can use the shell command ;)
I just ask this question because may be i think i am missing this option.

The way that Dreamweaver works is that the first time you preview, it opens
a new browser window. After that first time, it will reuse the existing one.
The problem comes if you close that window. DW doesn't know that so it can
wind up grabbing another instance of the browser. I don't think there is
anything you can do, except to leave that first window open.
Additionally, you may get better results if you click Tools->Internet
Options, then on the Advanced tab, un-check "Reuse windows for launching
shortcuts".

I have two suggestions for this issue.
1) I use Firefox for browsing and IE is the F12 preview in Browser.
Then I close the IE window when I'm finished checking my page. That way
I always have Firefox to browse around and find things to add to my
page, and IE to check the view as I work.
2) You can also use IE alone but make sure that the browser window you
want to use is the last browser window that was active, like this;
I have three IE windows opened;
a= My Site
b= Yahoo
c= Google
In DW if I simply push F12 then whatever window I last used will be used
by DW to display the Preview.
However, if I ALT+TAB to the window with My Site and then ALT+TAB back
to DW- when I press F12 the IE window for My Site will be taken and used
by DW. This leaves the Yahoo and Google windows intact for me to
continue browsing. However, read on...
And finally, as a web designer you should have as a minimum a Mozilla
(Firefox, Netscape, or Mozilla itself), based browser and IE on your
machine to check your site in those two basic viewing platforms. Not
having Mozilla or Firefox or Netscape, is just poor practice unless
you're working on an intra-net where you know all of the target browsers.
