Download speed is a pet thing for me...so anything that helps me create
faster-loading pages is greatly appreciated. And I know less about graphics
than I do about web design! :-)

I just relocated to a small town in Colorado (US) where the majority of
folks are on dial-up. so it's even more important now than before, because
any local business will want a site that downloads as fast as possible.
