Re: Nav Bar Question plus one |

Thanks for the help - I actually have the Dreamweaver MX Bible, and I think I
came across something in there about how easy it was to pull library items into
your template. This morning, I kind of had an epiphany, thinking "why in the
heck do I need my navbar as a library item in the first place?" I have pulled
the navbar library item from my template and I no longer get these crazy nested
editable region errors that were making me nuts.
Also, yes, I know I need to wean myself off of Layout Mode...
And, the whole CSS thing - I've created and am using an external CSS file;
now I just need to learn more about all of the things it can be used for. I'm
working on it.
Thanks for the help!

Excellent. Now you're getting it. If you are using a Template, and if your
navigation is in a non-editable region, then there is no reason to have it
be in a Library item at all. The one instance where I think it's useful to
use Templates and Library items is when you are using page specific
navigation. Then you can have an editable region on the page into which you
can drop your page specific navigation element. It's like the best of both
worlds!
Without a doubt. Don't wean. Cold turkey.
Good going.
