I took the "hmmmm" parts out, and saved the image as a gif - thank you for the
pointers.

My table cell is a pixel or two longer than the actual image. In addition, if
it views fine in IE (meaning the cell size is ok), why would Safari show it
differently? (I ask not to be a wise guy, but because I really don't
understand.)
