Personaly, I would turn it off first. Then see if you can upload. If you can
uplaod, then you know what the problem was. I would then fiddle with the
settings (if you're comfortable doing so) to see if it might be a setting alone
that affects it.

I tried turning off the firewall and that didn't even make a difference.
Apparently I have a totally different problem. What I get is a 530 Login
error. Now I am totally lost on how to make it work or what the problem could
be. Any ideas?
