Can you explicitly list the definition of your Remote site (you can omit the
password)?

I am having the same problem and as a newbie to dreamweaver, I am not sure what I did wrong or how to correct it. I would really love some help with this. TIA!

Your post is in a thread about uploading sites. Newbie to dreamweaver has
not posted in this thread. Are you trying to confuse me?

What, you are not easily confused are you Murray? :)

I was having the same issue for a while...I checked everything...FTP connect
info, anything I could think of. I had a program that had a firewall in it,
and when I turned it off I could suddenly, Magicly connect. Firewall programs
are great...unless you're trying to connect to a remote site! lol Hence my
switch to a Router. But I digress.

That really does rather depend on whether the router itself is doing any
blocking of unwanted traffic or not or whether it is NATing the
addresses of the machines behind it - the purpose of a router is simply
to ensure that network traffic gets to the place where it wants to go
and that of a firewall to prevent traffic that you don't want to go some
place - these are entirely different things.

Aren't most routers NATing the addresses by default? Can you tell me any
that do not?

| Amy2102 replied to A.H.O. on 16 Jul 2004 |
So, basically my problem could be the firewall I am using... Sygate Personal
Firewall Pro? Do I have to turn it off to make it work or could I just simply
adjust some of the settings to get it to work for me?
Murray: It was not my intention to confuse you. My apologies.
