My guess is that Spammers will developp server software that fights the
anti-spam-spamming-spam strategies, that will make your SFTFB obsolete.
And I'm pretty sure that's exactly what's going to happen.

I agree with this. I think there will be a continual progression of these
*until* there are fines/jail and some visibility for the spammers....

As I understand what John posted, assuming that the company doing the
advertising is not the same as the company sending the spam, there would
be no direct impact on the spammer. The impact would be on the company
that is using the spammer to send out their UCE. The impact on the
spammer would be indirect, in that sending the stuff out would cease to
be productive.
On the other hand, fines/jail, etc., would probably not be effective
either since the operations would simply move off-shore. The *real*
answer is for the public not to be so gullible that they respond to the
junk.
