Quick question about favicon

hi all!

i used this extension to insert a favicon in a site i'm doing, wich is not
online yet.

i have two questions:
- the favicon only appears after the site has been added to the favourites?
there's no way to make it appear before that?

- this will only work once i put the site online? so far i never see the
icon... just a windows image (like the ones that appear when we have no
software attached to a file type)

A lot depends on your browser. The favicon should appear to the left of the
URL, at the top of your browser, as well as to the left of bookmarks.

Depending on the browser, you might go to another site, clear cache and then
go back and reload the site. If you are using Safari, download Safari Icon
Manager and use it to clear the favicon for the site that you are testing.
Once the favicon in in the browser, it is usually not downloaded again,
unless the user takes some sort of specific action. See what you browser
requires.
