Putting a video clip into site |
| message from fatpad on 20 Jul 2004 |
I would like to add a link to a video clip into the front page of a site. What is the best way to do that in dreamweaver? Anything I need to consider?

video: put a link to the file on the page: ../vids/myvid.mpg
mp3: put link to the file on the page: ../noise/mynoise.mp3
the user can right-click to download or left-click to play.
Differences of opinion on embedding however. Some people are for and some
against embedding the players.
My opinion: make it the user's responsibility to have a player capable of
rendering the file, not your site. This way the file opens in the User's
preferred player, or default player for the media. Embedding a play in a
page can cause all kinds of cross-browser and cross platform issues.
