Publishing a web site from Trial Version |
| message from Educated Kid on 16 Jul 2004 |
Hi,
I downloaded the 30 day trial version of Dreamweaver MX 2004 to get a feel for
it however when I tried to publish it to a Personal Web server on a W98SE
machine I just cannot get it to publish. I am very new to this game so it
could be me however using FrontPage 2004 to build a web site (first time using
this application as well) and publish it to the same PWS all works fine.
I think I am publishing correctly, or is it not possible to publish from the
trial version?

You don't "publish" a site with DW as you do with FP. To host with PWS, just
open PWS and modify the root of the localhost web site to point to the
folder where your pages reside. You can also create a virtual directory
pointing to the folder. To put the files on a real web host, use FTP.
