PHP chat room question |

Dear all fellows,
I have newly built a PHP site and I would make a special chat room to provide
with our members.
After they have login, they can enter that chat room.
Just want to know that how to make my source to show who is currently inside
the chat room, if the
member is accidentical close the chat room interface. For example Alt-F4 to
close the windows,
how can the program know who is in-active.....
This is prefect if anyone can pass me some reference link to learn or download
some samples.
