Page Design Graphic

message from woodrackets on 25 Jul 2004
I am a beginner at Dreamweaver. I've built a homepage using GoLive, but as I
did not understand it clearly, it was tough and time consuming. I'm coming over
to Dreamweaver now.

I want one photo to be the background of my openning (home?) page. Over that
I'd like to have links in the form of words scattered across the page, in front
of the photo.

Question: How large should I set the photo - pixel size?

It's up to you. I'm not even sure what a "standard" page size is, but
monitors come in different sizes, and viewers can also resize their
monitors. It's virtually impossible to make one image that spans all the
possible viewing areas, unless it's some sort of simple graphical design
or gradient, or maybe a natural landscape that can be split into two
pictures set as background images, with one positioned on the left, the
other on the right.
