Some of the questions were almost designed for me, e.g. the Gimlet one.
That's what I convinced guests to get when I was working as a bartender
since they're so easy to make: with ice cubes in a whiskey tumbler for
the guys, in an "Alsace" wine glass and crushed ice, a slice of lime and
a pair of short green straws for the dolls.

Oh, and while I'm blabbering away: Not without some remorse and moist
eyes, I just decided to retire my old b/w G3 (eventually upgraded to G4)
that's been servicing me for the past six years and got myself a G5 and
Panther. I finally left the 20th century....

Did you do better on it, then?

What a come down. 35%.

What the heck do I know about Rochester?

Steve Fleischer replied to Murray *TMM* on 21 Jul 2004
Neener, neener...60% :-)

Murray *TMM* replied to Steve Fleischer on 20 Jul 2004
Yeah - but if I look at your score with the digits reversed, it's only 06%.
So there.

Q18: Leg-O should be "Lego"

James Shook replied to Mick White on 20 Jul 2004
70%.

Question 15: I think the quotation goes more like "I used to be pure as
the driven snow, but then I drifted."

James Shook replied to James Shook on 20 Jul 2004
Or "I used to be Snow White — but I drifted."
Or "I was pure as the wind-driven snow - until I drifted."
Or "I was pure as the driven snow until I drifted."

Can't find what seems to be a definitive source.

Murray *TMM* replied to James Shook on 20 Jul 2004
Ask her. Or channel her.

James Shook replied to Murray *TMM* on 20 Jul 2004
OK. Tuning in.....

She says it was "I used to be a glacier, but then I calved."

No, wait.... "I used to use Ivory Snow, but then I switched to Tide."

Hold on... "I used to shovel snow, but then I got a snow blower."

Now I'm getting "I used to be pure as the driven snow, but then carbon
emissions triggered global warming, and I slowly melted due to the
greenhouse effect."

That can't be right.

She's fading. One last try: "I used to cure polio, but then... Jonas
Salk...."

That's all I could make out. I'll have to try later wearing a blond wig
and lots of padding.

You took last week's quiz - due to the incompetence of the staff here at
mickweb,

http://mickweb.com/quiz/

I really have to put my foot down, no room for slackers at mickweb.

Mick White replied to Percival Prim on 21 Jul 2004
You're right, PP, Q5 should read, "Who first sang the song ...?"
BH sang it back in the 50's, I believe.
Well done and thanks.
