Newbie - help uploading |
| message from roselynnc on 23 Jul 2004 |
I created some pages that have already been uploaded to a pre-existing site. I
now need to upload these pages to a brand new site location. What do I need to
do? (Sorry for being so unformed, am a former FP user.)

In your site definition change the Remote Info to reflect the new site
location.

Burn the files to a CD and mail that to the host. ;-)

hmm. Never noticed a bug in DMX ftp. I guess you need to understand how
it works (basically it works with perfect logic), and then as long as
your site's folders structure makes sense locally, DMX can pretty much
do anything for you, or assist you in many useful ways, such as
dependant files uploading, most recent files changes or uploads,
over-writting warnings, and so forth. I don't know what else you can ask
from an ftp program.

I have never, ever had a problem with DW's FTP. YMMV.

me too, no problem, the beauty of DW is that you can synchronize your local files with the remote instantly.

A downside is if you travel to different time zones, adjust the clock on
your computer, and upload from different places it manages to confuse the
hell our of the synchronization.
