Moving files between sites?

Hi all... Up until recently, I've been using CF Studio and/or Homesite for all
my coding. However, I am faced with the need to start using Dreamweaver
(because of Homesite's inability to use Secure FTP)... So, I'm looking for ways
to duplicate some of the ways I am used to doing things the old way.
Specifically, I had the ability to open a file (either by RDS, FTP, local file,
etc) then choose SAVE AS and, using the integrated Macromedia FTP & RDS
connection in Explorer, I could save that file to ANY location (FTP, RDS,
local, etc) that I had access to... So, my question is:

How can I either copy and paste files from one site to another, or open a file
and do a SAVE AS and put the file into a different site than the one it was
opened from?

You want to get aquainted with the Sites feature in Dw. Under
Sites>Manage Sites you set up the way you want to work. In DW,
you usually define a local root folder and a remote server. You
do your work locally then have DW synchronize with the remote
server. However, if you prefer you can set up the site a FTP/RDS.

This is not going to conveniently let him load from site A and save to site

Everything that I've read so far is leaning me in the direction that there
really isnt an easy way to do this... But, I'm hopeful... Also... as a side
question, if I define a Site, it keeps everything local and works from there
Is there a real benefit to keeping a copy of the files local? Seems like an
extra level of confusion, but wanted to make sure that I'm not missing
something?

It's the only way I work. I keep local copies of all sites. I edit the
local files, and when editing is completed, I PUT the changed files to the
Remote location. It seems very safe to me to do it this way.
