HTTP Error: 403, prefix & live data, testing serv |
| message from Marc99508 on 25 Jul 2004 |
My new Dreamweaver installation seems buggy but I am not sure what to do to fix
it.
- When setting up a site and testing the URL I get the error message after
time out of" Dreamweaver cna not use prefix you entered to display live data
- Have trouble getting testing server set up. I set it up in the manage sites
wizard but when I set up a recordset it says that I still need to set one up.
I never can get it to take
- I get several hangs/timeouts of about 45 seconds when I select various
things such as selecting the local file folder in the files panel
I have resinstalled IIS, Dreameaver, defragmented the hard drive, tried these
things over and over with different files on different days. Still stuck.
Anyone with some clues.
This does not happen on another computer. All I can think is that Dreamweaver
is conflicting with some software. I am running Windows XP pro on a PC

I have solved the problem. This may help others. The answer is... I
unistalled my Zone Alarm Firewall and bang, the problem went away. The testing
server now gets set up and the URL check in the manage sites window also now
works. I could probably find a way to let the firewall talk to Dreamwever, but
I'll take that on another day..
