Error in DW due to FIreworks Pop-up menu |
| message from twaite on 20 Jul 2004 |
So I have Fireworks MX on my computer at work and used it to create a series of
pop-up menus for my main navigation. The problem that is occuring is that on
my home computer I use Dreamweaver 4, and when I try to edit the page with the
MX pop-up menu I immediately receive an error and DW shuts down. If I first
remove the FW create JavaScript I can edit the page but then receive an error
when trying to reload the menu back in. Any suggestions other than upgrading
from DW 4 or learning how to hand-code the JavaScript?
Thanks

Two suggestions apply -
1. Upgrade DW4 to DMX2004 before you lose the chance to do so.
2. Never use the DW/FW pop-up menus. The number of new users who have been
stranded by these menus is staggering.
Read this carefully -

Either hand code, upgrade or purchase Magic menus from project seven,
they are very good and the software is competitively priced. You could
even download the free menu tutorial and software to create pop-ups.
All said, if you plan to keep using Dreamweaver and want to develop your
web skills, especially CSS you should consider upgrading dreamweaver to
MX2004.
