Dreamweaver MX 2004 FTP problem

message from Carey Chelenza on 20 Jul 2004
Since I upgraded to MX 2004, I can no longer upload files through
dreamweaver to my hosting company. I get an ftp error saying 'the
file may not exist or there is a permissions problem'. I can use cute
ftp to upload with no problems. When I questioned my hosting company
(webmasters.com) they said they have had multiple people complain
about this problem and it is a problem with MX 2004 and they can't do
anything about it. Does anyone else have this problem or know of a
web hosting company that I can switch to that doesn't have this
problem.

Given that DW was tested with hundreds of FTP servers I would suggest that
they have the problem with it. I have used hostmysite.com and
vianetworks.com with DW and had no problems

Have you selected passive FTP in the remote site definition?

I've tried it both ways -- checking passive FTP and unchecking passive
FTP and I still get the error. I can connect with no problem, I just
can upload files because it says it's a permissions problem. I have
no problem uploading using Cute FTP, but the function just won't work
in Dreamweaver MX 2004.
