DreamWeaver MX Template Help Needed |
| message from theduke77 on 24 Jul 2004 |
I am using DreamWeaver MX and created a template that is currently used by 63
files in my site. Because of policy changes in the organization, I had to
change the template and need to detach the old templage and apply the new to
the aforementioned 63 files. Is there a way to "universally" detach the old
template and apply the new? I am not looking forward to doing this on those 63
files indivdually!
Thanks,

63 is not bad.
Do the old and the new template have the same number of editable regions,
and do they have the same names? If so, then do the following -
1. Rename the old template (refuse the prompt to update the files - THIS IS
IMPORTANT)
2. Rename the new template so that it has the old template's name.
3. Recreate the Site cache, using Site | Advanced > Recreate Site Cache
4. Open the new template, make a minor change and then reverse it, and save
the template. Allow the site to be updated.
Bada bing, bada boom.
