DW MX, mySQL, PHP |
| message from retvhtrhrethvgetrvv on 22 Jul 2004 |
I'm having a problem viewing / adding the data from my mySQL database.
1. I made my DB connection with DW wizaed (worked fine)
2. Added a recordset
3. To test it I used the Insert > Application Objects > Record Insertion Form
tool.
I "previewed" the page and the form showed up fine. I even entered data and
hit submit and it worked!
The problem: Ever since that one time, I haven't been able to get ANYTHING to
show up on my .php page when previewed. No form, no text, nothing. What am I
doing wrong now? I'm assuming it has to do with location of files on my
computer and the server. My connection to the DB was still fine. I just don't
understand why it worked one time and not since. I honestly didn't change any
settings.
Thanks in advance.

Is this locally, or on your web hosts server? Some systems are set up so
that errors are not displayed and you just get a blank page and I suspect
this is the case. Usually though, theres a script you can run that will
display any errors on the page so you can fix them, get in contact with your
web host.

Yes, I set it up to run directly from the host.... and yes, all I see is a blank page. Again, I can't understand why I was able to get it to work that one time and not once since.

It suggests theres an error somewhere then, but the host has it set not to
display in this case.
Ask your host for help, usually they have a page you can run your script
through and it will display error messages for you.
