DW 4 and DW transfer files issue

message from BigHead on 16 Jul 2004
Can the DW file transfer functionality corrupt server settings?

This has not been an issue in the three+ years I've been using DW, but
recently some .asp and .aspx files just aren't working on the web server. In
fact, the code isn't executing, and if you were to view source, you would be
able to see all the asp/aspx coding.

I have one site in which the .asp server side coding executes in all
directories, save one. In the that directory, the code does not execute.

The single site that uses .aspx is not executing at all.

The host is trying to figure out the issue and was asking if the way I
publish (via DW) is a possible culprit.

Anyone else had this problem or know of possible issues?

Thanks,

Teddy

This is definately a server issue. What's most likely happened is that they
reinstalled the .NET Framework and didn't register the ASP.NET services!
This is what happens if you can see the .NET code.

The solution is easy but must be done on the server.

their whole system is down now (been about 5 hours), so nothing I can do
now.

I hate hosting companies :-).

No way am I moving all these sites again. :-)

I had no problems for over a year. These past two months have been
frustrating though.

Thanks for the referral, I'll keep it in mind.
