Cannot use prefix used to display live data |
| message from Marc99508 on 22 Jul 2004 |
I am starting Dreamweaver out for the first time on my computer. When I go to
create a site I go to Manage Sites and go through the wizzard. I select yes to
use ASP technology and the other default choises such as use local folders. I
am putting the file at c:\inetpub\wwwroot\TestSite, and
http://localhost/TestSite/ to browse to the root site. I then depress "Test
URL." I get about a minute pause, and then the error message comes back as
" Dreamweaver cannot use the prefix you entered to display live data.
Please double check your site configuration or click help for more information
on how to correct the problem. HTTP Error: 404.
Help. I am stuck. What am I doing wrong. I am using Windows XP
professional, with IIS installed and running, .net is installed.

Dreamweaver sometimes does this; don't worry about it. Everything still works fine, so just ignore the message & click next.
