All site info disappeared ! |
| message from adrianmanship on 16 Jul 2004 |
Been working with MX 2004 for a few months now and everythign was ok. Today,
firing up dreamweaver, all my sites are missing ! When I manage sites from the
menu, all I see is 20 times the same site name (The last one I worked on) and
all my other sites are missing. Does anyone know of a way to rebuild this to
get it back. How can it just disappear like that ?

It's a known problem in DW. You should run the updater to the latest
version if you did not yet.
http://www.macromedia.com/support/dreamweaver/downloads_updaters.html
If you have no system backup, or backup of your registry, the Site
Definitions are lost and you have to reenter them.
The Site Definitions are stored in win registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia\Common\2004\Sites
Dreamweaver contains an Export Site Definition feature which allows
sites to be backed up one at a time. This is available by choosing Site >
Edit Sites, choose the site name from the list, then click Export. Follow
the prompts. Repeat this procedure for each site you want to back up.
Or just use my free tool, which can help you backup all important
DW settings and data (and much more):
